Itinerary for the Date Weekend

**this is still a working itinerary, but here's what. we favor right now:


DAY 1:


Take your time getting into camp and take the scenic route:

If you’re coming from the East: Follow the Lake James Loop, it's a quiet two-hour ride on scenic backroads joining the Parkway and circling Lake James. Along the way stop by Bear Creek Marina, the Orchard at Altapass, Little Switzerland, and Linville Caverns.


Ask us about our in-room experiences: in-room massage, charcuterie making class or elderberry syrup making class. View all our on-site experiences available for booking, here.


DAY 2:


A moderate Hike to a beautiful overlook - Lookout Mountain, Montreat - Mostly uphill, but a fun hike with rewarding views at the top! Wander the streets of Black Mountain, featuring local artisans and cute book shops before heading back to Marion.

OR


Get Crafty - Bring home a personalized souvenir. take a pottery class at Cariku Pottery or a glass blowing class at the NC Glass Center.


Coffee on the porch - Grab a Coffee or cocktail at Peri Social House. Sit on their expansive front porch and enjoy the beauty of nature. Live Music 5-8pm on Friday and Saturdays!


DAY 3:


Biltmore - Explore the BIltmore estate and grounds. You’ll be amazed by the opulence, breathe-taking views, and the grandar of the gardens. Check their website for special events. Cafe is on-site.


Drinks with a view - Grab drinks at the Flat Iron Rooftop Bar or the new Radical Hotel in the River Arts District.


Dinner at Luminosa - Head downstairs to Luminosa for dinner. Italian-Appalachian restaurant. Make sure to book a reservation ahead of time.

Day 3 - Shoji Spa in "The Trees" of Asheville



If you're looking for a family friendly camping or glamping vacation, look no further than Gold River camp + cabins. Located in Marion, NC, at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains and just 45-minutes from Asheville, we are not short of activities. If you need additional suggestions, don't hesitate to reach out, I have activities to recommend in Chimney Rock, Lake Lure, Hendersonville, Burnsville, Asheville, Morganton and Hickory - all within an hours drive!
